West Indies tops beating England in Super Eight

West Indies registered their first victory of the T20 World Cup and it came at a time when they needed the most. After winning the toss West Indies elected to bat first and it was a good decision in the end because their opening pair got them off to a flier scoring almost 9.5 runs per over. Gayle was in sublime hitting boundaries and sixes of every over but his innings was short lived and he departed after making a half century. Charles too scored a half century and was well supported by the middle order batsmen. The West Indies innings ended with 179 runs on board after the fall of 5 wickets. Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers from England picking up 2 wickets in his spell of 4 overs.

England did not start their innings well as they lost 2 wickets in the very first over without even scoring a run. Ravi Rampaul was the one who gave England such a set back and though they recovered from the situation it was not good enough for them to win the match. England finished off at 164 for the loss of 4 wickets and this gave West Indies a 15 run victory. West Indies now go to the top of the points table of Group 1 in the super eights.
