Sunrisers Falter At KKR Fortress

Finally a much needed win for KKR arrived in the form of some batting brilliance by captain Gambhir followed by Morgan and Kallis. Their efforts made it possible for KKR to put up a target of 181 for Hyderabad which definitely looked difficult considering the bowling unit KKR has. Apart from a little cameo from Cameron White none of the Hyderabad batsmen could dare to go after the KKR bowlers ending up with 48 runs short. This victory will definitely boost KKR up but they remain in 5th position on the points table with 2 wins from 4 matches as Hyderabad remain at 3rd with 3 wins from 5 matches.

KKR looked quite positive from ball one itself; Bisla did hold on to the yard for sometime supporting captain Gambhir; Gambhir got out on 53 and Morgan and Kallis took up the responsibility as they played some superb shots over the boundary to punish the Hyderabad bowlers away. So far, in Pepsi IPL this is the second home match for KKR and they have won both. Seems like Eden Gardens is turning out to be a fortress for them; the first team to lose out at the Gardens in this season was the opening match with Delhi and now Hyderabad. Sangakkara does need to find form and show some responsibility with the bat; otherwise he’s a captain every team would want to have. All in all, a good game of cricket on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
