Watson Faulkner effort thrash Hyderabad

A terrific innings by Watson coupled with some gruesome bowling attack by Faulkner drove RR to a much needed victory against the in-form Hyderabad. Having put up a score of 144 for the loss of 9 wickets the target seemed easier than it is once Watson started hitting the ball all over the park. Their bowlers could do little to stop him as he saw his team through by 8 wickets himself remaining unbeaten on 98 just two short of his much deserved century in IPL 6. Dravid’s men did everything right on what could be called as the Royal’s day as Hyderabad did little with the bat. However, had their bowling attack been better they could have done something to stop RR but Watson seemed to be on fire once he got down to bat.

The Rajasthan Royals won it in style with 13 balls remaining and 8 wickets in hand. The much hyped Shikhar Dhawan failed to make a mark today as he got off for a duck; Darren Sammy’s 60 was the only glittering number on their score card that led them to a target of 145. However, Faulkner’s five wicket haul was always special and despite Watson’s superb innings of unbeaten 98 Faulkner got away with the man of the match. It was more of a match of two players from the same side with the bat and the ball namely Watson and Faulkner respectively
