CSK looking mighty with Bravo back

With Dwayne Bravo in the squad, the 2-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings now appear to be a perfectly balanced team and they are certainly a threat for all the other teams in the main draw of the Champions League T20 2014. The Super Kings had lost Bravo due to injury in their first match in IPL 7 against Kings XI Punjab which left them in a few selection problems. After Bravo’s exit, they were forced to play an extra batsman which weakened their bowling department a little bit and they lost a lot of matches because of that especially in the last phase of the tournament.

Bravo, being a genuine all rounder, covers a lot of bases for the men in yellow. He can bat at no. 4 or 5 and can hit those big shots and then, he can bowl his full quota of 4 overs in every match. He is very good at death, bowling those slower balls and full deliveries right on the toes of the batsmen. So, having him back is a big gain for the CSK captain MS Dhoni. Now, Dhoni can play three spinners as Bravo will be the extra seamer in the XI.

CSK had missed Ashish Nehra too in IPL 7 as the Delhi left armer had broken his finger trying to take a catch at short third fan in that same match against Punjab. He was out for about 10 games and Dhoni had to somehow manage with the youngsters like Ishar Pandey and Mohit Sharma in that duration.

Pandey and Mohit did a fine job though, but, they let a few games drift in the death. Nehra, with his experience, might have got those yorkers in and stopped the batsmen from adding those 10-15 extra runs.
