Update At the end of 6th day of World Twenty20 2012

The group matches are almost over and teams from group A and C have already made it to the super eights. The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh is yet to be played and that will decide who will be the topper in Group D. Similarly Group B is still in search of the runner up team who will go on to the super eight. For the time being India stand on top of Group A with 4 points after they beat England in what turned out to be a very one sided match. Their run rate is also greater than England and England having been beaten Afghanistan will go to the super eight as the runners from Group A. in Group B Australia have already reached the super eight after beating both Ireland and West Indies. It is time to see whether West Indies are able to beat Ireland or not.

In Group C, South Africa and Sri Lanka have made it to the super eights with the Proteas emerging as the group champions after beating both Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. The home team will look to fight back in the super eights after a quite ordinary performance in the group stages. South Africa on the other hand will love to have this momentum going with them. Group D, also known as the group of death are yet to get the 2 teams for the super eights. Both New Zealand and Pakistan are tied up with 2 points each although the Kiwis have a slight upper hand on Pakistan because of the run rate. So with the turn of events in the recent times it is time to see which team faces which and how the rain gods play a part.
