Update At the end of 5th day of World Twenty20

The points table of the T20 World Cup has changed with the recent ups and downs in the matches. Group A saw the massive defeat of Afghanistan in the hands of England and the 116 runs victory has kept the English team on top of the group because of a superior run rate. India who had beaten Afghanistan earlier was on top but the run rate factor has dropped them to the second spot. The match between India and England is yet to played and that will decide who will go to the super eight as the group topper. In Group B Australia has already become the group champion after they beat West Indies in a rain affected match. They had earlier beaten Ireland and it all depends on the match between West Indies and Ireland as to who will be the second team to enter the super eights.

The teams for the super eights from Group C have already been decided after Zimbabwe got eliminated having been beaten both by Sri Lanka and South Africa. The Proteas were successful in beating the home team as well and will go to the super eights as the group winner. In Group D only one game has been played so far where New Zealand has beaten Bangladesh and as a result they stand on top of the table so far. Two games are yet to be played and since this is the group of death nothing can be said till the very end.
